Description: Educational Services: Turtle Springs Research performs Hands-On "Herpetology of the Midwest" Presentations,
focusing on a collection of live native snakes, turtles, and frogs, and can discuss any level of their ecology, physiology, and habitat. We present to all age groups up to adults, and can do up to 6 presentations of 45min to 1 hour per day for entire Schools. We limit each presentation to 2 avg classes of about 60 kids. We also
do single large group presentations and will travel the north half of a 3-state area, limit being a 8-hour driving range one-way. Prices: $200 + round trip mileage of $.0.34/mi for whole school presentations $150 + r.t. mileage as above for single-large group
presentations We do contract education with the Glenn T. Seaborg Center and the Multicultural Affairs Office at NMU. An annual program is "College for Kids- Turtles~n~Toads", 4 weeks of in-class and field Herpetology experiences for 100 youth per summer (July). We also provide volunteer expertise for Science Olympiad and Young Author's Program for the MAISD Schools and maintain a herpetological exhibit (and do weekly presentations Tues-3-6pm) at the UP Children's Museum. Turtle Springs also offers Herpetological Inventory services for agencies, tribes, and corporate or individual landowners.
